The Provincial Health Officer (PHO) has given a new Order that requires CLBC staff as well as staff of CLBC service providers to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
This Order applies to staff who work for CLBC funded agencies, person centred societies, microboards and people who have direct funding from CLBC, including direct funded respite.
The Order requires these staff to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, or have applied for or have a medical exemption, before January 14, 2022.
CLBC is now helping these service providers to follow this Order. We have created a “PHO Vaccination Order” web page here, where you can also find a Frequently Asked Questions document here. We will also be holding our next monthly COVID call to help answer questions. Information about that call is pasted below.
If you are an individual or family member served by CLBC, thank you for understanding and supporting the hard work your service provider is doing to follow the Order. While most people in B.C. are vaccinated, there may be some staff who choose not to get their vaccinations. We have asked CLBC funded providers to work with you if there is a change to a service.
People, families and service providers have asked very strongly for this vaccination Order because many of the people we serve have health conditions that make them more vulnerable to getting very sick from COVID. We are grateful to everyone who is working hard to follow the Order and take every step possible to protect the people we serve.
